The KANTAI furniture (which means “warm welcome” in Japanese) was designed under the direction of José Levy, Creative Director of the French Pavilion at Expo 2025. KANTAI furniture is installed in the Pavilion’s cool spaces on the VIP floor.

Carefully crafted in our workshops in Tuffé, Sarthe, France, the KANTAI furniture features grooved wood fronts, a subtle echo of the Pavilion’s sails, and glossy Fjord lacquer, a tribute to the country’s traditional technique, in an authentic chic style that characterizes DECOTEC furniture.
